  • Etymology : From the Greek "Haematites""αιματίτις λίθος" = blood stone, referring to the colour of its dust or its line on the porcelain.

It exists in the trade of "hematite" but which is not in the mineral sense. It is cast iron. It is also sold magnetic hematite. It’s a synthetic stone.
