  • Etymology : In honor of H.J. BROOKE (1771-1857 ), English mineralogist.
  • Discovery: 1825 by Serve-Dieu Abailard
  • Type localityBetween Beddgelert and Tremadoc, 8 miles from Snowden, Gwynnedd, Walles.
  • Comment : Brookite is one of the five forms of titanium dioxide.

Brookite is one of the five forms of titanium dioxide.

Its a very dark stone that icould be rarely found with a beautiful transparent red Brown color. Faceted stones in brookite are very rare, many are parts of private collections.
