  • Etymology : In homage to the colonel and the Dutch collector H.Van Prehn (on 1733 - 1785).

The Prehnite can be in colors of colorless in grey, yellow, green...

The Prehnite would be the first mineral to have its name attributed in honor of a person Prehn.
