Hiddenite

  • Etymology : Name given in honor of W. E. Hidden who discovered it in 1879, in North Carolina (USA).
  • Discovery: 1879 by Joseph Lawrence Smith

Hiddenite is a green variety of Spodumene.

Hiddenite is pink to the Chealsea filter due to the presence of chromium. Chromium gives its green color to hiddenite.
