The apatite was very often confused with other gems.

One of the particularities of this stone is the fact that it's composed of calcium phosphate wich is the main component that makes teeth and buns grow in the human body.

Many virtues have been attributed to it because of its nature. So is it particularly appreciated in lithotherapy.

Three species of apatite are recognized :
Chlorapatite Ca5(PO4)3Cl
Fluorapatite Ca5(PO4)3F
Hydroxyapatite Ca5(PO4)3(OH)
