Andalusite

Even if the andalusite has a nice color and a good hardness it is not often used in jewelry.

The andalusite has the same chemical formula as the Kyanite and the Sillimanitebut not the same system.

The andalusite has a high pleochroism. And depending of the light, the andalusite shows different colors, from yellowish-green to reddish threw different tones of brown.

The flawless gem andalusites are rare.

The white rose, which once cut perpendicularly to the crystal shows a cross-shaped inclusion (Carbon) is called chiastolite or "stone of the cross".
